Spring is in the Air

Spring is in the air, the sun is shinning, and its time for flowers! Since I had a bad winter trying to protect the plumerias from spider mites, cold, and all other wintery issues. But the sun has returned, along with the heat those plumies so love, and I've got an itching to get my hands dirty.

Sadly, with the constrictions of our apartments, I can't build myself a real garden, I can content myself with a container garden. Pintrest has been a real big help in giving me lots of ideas and designs for container gardens and even container water gardens.

I haven't done much planting over winter and since I'm trying to save space for plumeria, I've only done a couple small additions.

The first was a Hawaiian Umbrella plant. I'd seen these fun looking plants around for a lot of "beginner bonsai" sights. I found this little guy at a Meijers store.  I was delighted by their selection of small accent plants for $3. I'm don't sure if I'm going to be attempt to bonsai this specimen or if I want to help him expand.

As well, I really wanted build my own hanging basket. Of course I have always had a real love for Morning Glories. So I started a little greenhouse to get those Morning Glories bursting open so I could create my own hanging basket for the patio.
