The Plumeria in Texas

In April I moved to Texas from Indiana. I drove the whole way there from Indianapolis to Dallas in my Camry with my plumeria in the backseat. When they arrived in Texas, they had no clue what to do with themselves. Indy was still freezing and the plummies weren't able to go outside but when we got to Dallas, the weather was already into the 80s.

I put the plumeria outside immediately and they actually hated it. The leaves started to turn yellow and they at first wouldn't sprout or grow. I thought for sure I had sent them into shock and they wouldn't make it through the transition.

And then after about a week everything changed. The plummies perked up and started flourishing.
No blooms but they've grown a whole foot over the summer. And now that winter approaches, I've bought a greenhouse for my back porch to keep them nice and toasty through the cold nights ahead.

I measured them today to get an accurate idea of the growth. I just replanted the plumerias because they were tipping over when the wind blew. I did have the measure from the base of the pot to the tip of the plumerias.
