New Plumeria On the Way!

Since my birthday was last month and I picked up a tonne of overtime at the end of September, I decided to treat myself to a little gift of some new plumeria.

Of course my first stop was Jungle Jack's Plumeria of San Diego, CA. Last time I decided to buy with Jack's, I actually flew out to San Diego and visited his nursery. This time I decided to ordered my plumeria from the comfort of my apartment (and the brand new massaging recliner I also bought with my overtime!)

While I had my heart set on Firestorm (Some Day!) it was just too big for my apartment. So I scaled down and ordered the miniature Captivate and the compact sized Enchanted.

Due to it being the end of the season, I'm still waiting to hear back from Jack about availability on Captivate and Enchanted but I've got my fingers crossed.

As well, I also decided to take the risk and try buying from Ebay. Now, at this time in the season, a cutting is never going to root, so I chose to go with an already rooted specimen. And I picked the Penang Peach plumeria, one of the oldest plumeria available. Not only is it a popular plumeria for beginners, its also compact and one of the first plants growers start trying to hybrid from. Due to all of these reasons, I was excited to acquire my own.

Penang Peach plumeria - the color can vary due to heat but it is usually yellow and pink in color with hints of orange

The Penang Peach should be in by next Friday, so there should be more updates and pictures soon. I can't wait! I have so many plans for everything.
